RSVP for Guests Living Outside of the United States

Hello all!  We hope you have all received our invitations by now, along with the self-addressed return envelopes.  For those of you living in the United States, please note that the the return envelopes have already been pre-paid for you, so all you have to do is pop them in the mail!

Unfortunately, for our friends and family living outside of the United States we were not able to pre-pay the return postage as we were informed by the post office that this was impossible to do for international return mail.  We would not like any of you to feel obligated to pay for the return RSVP postage, so if you wish you can send an email to either me or my mother with your response before April 1st.  For those of you who don't have it, my email is: mmarinow7@gmail.com and my mother's is: hmam12@verizon.net

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this might cause, and we look forward to hearing from you all, and maybe seeing some of you, very soon!  And regardless if you can make it or not, please know that you will all be in our hearts and on our minds on June 4th, and we can all celebrate together whether you are near or far!

Wedding Registry Information- Updated!

We are very touched by the fact that many people have been asking us about sending us gifts for our wedding.  Although the greatest gift of all is having you in our lives and celebrating this special occasion with our loved ones (and we do not expect or ask for anything in return), for those of you who have asked about gifts, we have thought of the following options:

- Due to the international nature of our wedding, we will not be having a gift registry in the United States since it will very difficult to transport items to and from Spain.  Therefore, we have created one gift registry here in Spain at the department store called "El Corte Ingles."  This account will be available online starting March 6th, 2016 and will stay open until August 3rd, 2016. For those of you who would like use the El Corte Ingles registry, please visit the following website starting March 6th: https://www.elcorteingles.es/bodamas_ssl/invitados/celebrantes_acceso.asp?promo=01&idioma=010

Once you click on this link you will be prompted to search for our registry using either the bride or groom's name and surnames which would be one of the following:

Name: Melissa Ann      Surname(s): Marinow

or

Name: Eduardo            Surname(s): Mayas Sanz

-However, since the El Corte Ingles registry`s currency for buying products is in Euros, we have thought of a different option for those guests wishing to send gifts in US Dollars. We kindly ask that anyone wishing to give gifts in US Dollars, please mail a check made out to Melissa Ann Marinow to my parent's home address in Sunset Beach California.  You may address the envelope to:

Dr. & Mrs. Harry Marinow

P.O. Box 1480

Sunset Beach, CA

90742

We hope this information will be helpful to those who have been curious about gifts, and as we said before, the greatest gift of all is being able to share this special occasion with all of you, whether it be from near or far!

Happy New Year and Hotel Discount Update!

First and foremost, Edu and I would like to wish all of our dear family and friends and a very happy new year! We hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season, and that the new year is off to a great start for each and every one of you!

Now that we are officially in 2016, preparations for our special day are in full swing.... Which means we have some exciting updates for our guests. Specifically, regarding accommodation.  The Hotel Santo Domingo, where our reception will be held, has kindly created a promotional code for our guests to use when booking a room online. This code will provide our guests with a 20% discount off the regular market price of the room.

To take advantage of this offer, please visit the hotel's webpage at: http://hotelsantodomingo.es/en

Once you are on the home page, you will see a white box on the right side of the page. There, you can type in the check-in date and number of nights you would like to book a room. Under the number of nights box, there is an option to enter a promotional code, which is where you will enter our special wedding code: BOD16JUNSEB

After you enter the wedding code and click on the box "check rates and book," you can browse the various room options and available prices.

We hope this will be helpful to those of you wanting to stay at the reception hotel!

Edu and I will be back soon with more updates and information, and keep your eyes peeled for our invitations which will be sent out shortly!

As always, we wish everyone the very best and look forward to hopefully seeing some of you very soon!

Accommodation

Since the countdown to our big day has begun, we would like to provide everyone with some initial recommendations in terms of accommodation.

As you have seen from our previous posts, our wedding reception will take place at the Hotel Santo Domingo located in the center of Madrid.  For those of you interested in staying at the hotel, our Maitre d' has told us that he can arrange a special rate for our wedding guests.  His initial estimation was around 100 Euro per night, however, this rate may fluctuate depending on the market at the time.  Therefore, he has asked us to provide a head count of the number of rooms that we would like to book at the hotel at the beginning of the new year in order to ensure that there is sufficient space and to offer us the best market price.  Below we have provided the link to the hotel's web page so you can take a look at the rooms and decide if you would like to stay there or not.  If you think you might like to stay at the hotel, please let us know at your earliest convenience.

For those of you interested in finding alternative accommodation at other hotels, here are a few more links.

http://www.hotels.com/

The above link is to Hotels.com  On this page once you have searched for hotels in "Madrid, Spain," the dates you would like to book and the type of room you want, a long list of hotels will appear.  Go to the left side of the page and search for the drop down menu that says "neighborhood." Our hotel for the wedding is located off of Gran Via street.  Therefore, if you would like your hotel to be close to the reception site, select the "Gran Via," "Puerta del Sol," or "Plaza de Espana" options.  If you would like to be closer to the church for the wedding ceremony, select the "Retiro" or "Salamanca" neighborhood options. However, since both the church and hotel are very centrally located, any of these neighborhoods will be very close to the celebrations and easily accessible by public transportation or even by foot!

Another option for accommodation is to rent an apartment for your stay in Madrid.  We have had friends who have used the following two booking organizations and they were very pleased with the results.  Just make sure to select apartments in a centrally located area.  Look for locations such as "Puerta del Sol," Plaza de Espana," "Callao," "Gran Via," "Palacio Real" (Royal Palace), or "Retiro Park."

 Here are those two links:

We hope that this information will be helpful in the event that you are starting to think about your trip to Madrid.

As always, please feel free to leave comments here with any questions or doubts you might have about accommodation in Madrid.  Or, you can always send us a personal email to:  mmarinow7@gmail.com and we will get back to you right away!

The Reception & Hotel

Following our ceremony, the festivities are planned to continue at Hotel Santo Domingo, which is about a 30 minute walk from the church or an even quicker ride in a taxi or the metro (about 10 minutes).  Hotel Santo Domingo is a 4 star hotel located in the heart of Madrid, just a short distance from the most emblematic sites and tourist attractions.

The reception will begin between 7:15 and 7:30 with a cocktail hour on the hotel's rooftop terrace, weather permitting. (Let's keep our fingers crossed!)
